'Raiders From Outer Space' Story Code '9629' by Bob and Wanda Duncan

2nd November 1883: Doug and Tony materialise at Khartoum in 1883, in the midst of a fierce battle between British and Arab forces. After fending off an attack by two Arabs, the time-travellers are astonished when they come face-to-face with two alien androids armed with sinister weapons. When the Project Tic-Toc personnel attempt to transfer their colleagues, another alien, The Planet Leader, appears on the screen and instructs Lieutenant General Kirk, Doctor MacGregor and Doctor Swain to cease their efforts, or he will destroy the Time Tunnel. The androids take Doug and Tony to a cave where they meet the Planet Leader, Prince of the planet Aristos, who reveals his plan to destroy the Earth using a set of deadly missiles so that he can prove he is fit to rule. The Leader orders that Tony be executed, and then connects Doug to a mind-reading device so that he can learn the secrets of the Time Tunnel. Tony is about to shot by an android when two British servicemen approach; the android teleports away, leaving Tony to be captured by Captain Henderson and his sergeant, who believe him to be a spy. Tony manages to persuade them of his innocence, and leads them back to the Planet Leader’s base, where they are joined by Doug, now freed from the mind-reading device by the Tic-Toc personnel. They are spotted by an android, which kills the sergeant. Meanwhile, the Planet Leader sends a bomb into the Time Tunnel to prevent further meddling by Kirk and the others. Doug, Tony and Henderson head for Khartoum to get help to destroy the aliens, only to be caught up in the final bloody battle between the Arabs and the British…

Cliff-hanger: Doug and Tony arrive inside a futuristic control room, where they are attacked by a workman. In the ensuing struggle the man is killed – but then he gets to his feet and vanishes before their astonished eyes…
