28th July 1978: Once again Sam arrives in Pottersville, Louisiana, this time in the elderly body of Councillor Larry Stanton. After Sam inadvertently upsets Larry’s larger-than-life wife, Cherlyn, Al advises that he just saved Larry from the fatal heart attack he was due to suffer during a night of passion; however, Sam believes his mission concerns Abagail Fuller, recalling how Larry once saved her from a lynch mob. As luck would have it Larry then receives a visit from Abagail’s maid, Marie Billings, who asks for his help: it seems that yet again Abagail has been accused of murder, this time for the death of Leta Aider, whose body was found lying on the Fuller’s kitchen floor, with her throat cut. Still in love with Abagail, Sam readily agrees to take the case, and he sets out to uncover the truth behind Leta’s death. But during his investigation Sam makes an amazing discovery: Abagail’s daughter Sammy Jo is his child…
