'Hurricane' Story Code '67306' by Chris Ruppenthal

17th August 1969: Sam finds himself in the body of Deputy Sheriff Archie Necaise in Jackson Point, Mississippi, mere hours before the town will be devastated by Hurricane Camille. With time running out, Sam and his girlfriend, Red Cross worker Cissy Davis, attempt to evacuate the townsfolk to safety, but their task is hampered by the fact that many people refuse to leave their homes and possessions behind. Al informs Sam that his mission is to save Cissy’s life, as she is destined to die the following morning, apparently from flying debris. Amidst the chaos, Archie and Cissy’s relationship comes under threat from their respective former lovers: Cissy’s bad-tempered ex-, Joe, reappears on the scene, while the unstable Lisa still has her sights set on Archie. Could it be that Hurricane Camille is not responsible for Cissy’s death after all…?
