'Lost Knight' by Robert Foster and James M. Miller

Chasing two thieves who have just robbed a demolition site, Michael and K.I.T.T. are caught in an electrical explosion. Michael is badly shaken, and when he discovers that K.I.T.T.’s memory banks have been wiped he tries to go for help, only to pass out from his ordeal. The amnesiac K.I.T.T. drives off and soon befriends Doug Wainwright, a young boy who is being chased by the crooks because he is the only one who can identify them…
