'The Sting' by Patric M. Verrone

Some time ago, the previous crew of ‘Planet Express’ was killed whilst collecting honey from a colony of deadly space bees; now, Professor Farnsworth decides to assign his latest crew the same task. Arriving at the bees’ asteroid hive, Fry, Leela and Bender set about collecting the honey; but when Leela takes a baby queen bee, the creature promptly kills Fry with its stinger. At Fry’s funeral back on Earth, a guilt-ridden Leela begins to experience romantic dreams about Fry – which lead her to believe that he may still be alive…
