WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF TOMATO!
The Professor’s memory gets even worse, and Doctor Zoidberg diagnoses him with Absent Scientist Professor Syndrome (‘A.S.S.’). Ironically, the professor once conducted memory experiments on rats a hundred years ago, so the Planet Express gang set off to the Farnsworth Institute of Memory Health on Vivisectoid Alpha. When they arrive, they discover that the planetoid has gone, replaced by a huge ring-shaped world. After the usual crash-landing, the gang meets an evolved descendant of the original lab-rats, Doctor Vermius. He takes them to his laboratory at Ratcliffe University, where he is conducting experiments on fleas. Vermius tells his visitors about the rats’ creation story: how their ancestors escaped imprisonment in a giant maze created by ‘The Evil One’ after a cheese explosion destroyed the planetoid, leading to the creation of the giant ring world. Unfortunately, the rats quickly realise that the Professor is the Evil One of legend; they imprison him and his crew inside a giant cage, to be used as subjects in a series of terrible experiments…
