When Hermes’ beloved coffee-plant-father Baddrick contracts a leaf disease, Zoidberg calls his botanist ex-girlfriend Marianne for help. Having diagnosed a fatal mocha blight, Marianne takes the Planet Express gang to a botanical garden in space, where Baddrick is planted in a biome to receive treatment. The crew stays at the space-garden while the anti-blight spray takes effect, and they witness a rare corpse plant blooming for the first time in a hundred years. But whilst the flower is beautiful, its scent nauseates everyone - except for Zoidberg and Marianne, whose enjoyment of the stench rekindles their love. Romance quickly blossoms between Zoidberg and Marianne, until the corpse plant starts communicating with them, and Marianne falls in love with it too. Hermes is distraught when his father seemingly succumbs to the deadly blight, and he vows to brew coffee from Baddrick’s beans to memorialise him. Meanwhile, Marianne and Zoidberg fall under the overpowering influence of the corpse plant, and find themselves in a threeway floral arangement…
