Back in the year 2000, the city of New York ran out of places to dump its rubbish, and so blasted it out into space; one-thousand years later, that same garbage is heading back to Earth, and will destroy the world unless the ‘Planet Express’ crew can find a way to stop it. However, when Fry, Leela and Bender try to place a bomb on the huge, hurtling hunk of rubbish their plan goes wrong; the only option left to destroy the garbage is to hit it with another big piece of garbage – however, trash no longer exists in the year 3000…
