'The Sound Snatcher' by Daniel Postgate

A strange bagpipes-like bug flies to the Clangers’ planet and sucks up all the music: jazz from the Iron Chicken’s radio, the sound of the Music Trees and the singing from Tiny Clanger’s Flower Friends. But the bug becomes greedy when it hears the Hoot Planet, and it sucks up so much sound from them that its belly swells up like a balloon, stopping it from flying. With the bug floating helplessly in space, Tiny, Major and the Flowers mount a rescue mission…
