'The Game' by Daniel Postgate

As Small, Tiny and Baby Soup Dragon tidy up the planet surface, a meteorite shower drops some pretty gemstones around them. After they share the stones out equally amongst themselves, Baby Soup Dragon proposes playing a throwing game; he soon ends up winning all the gems, but instead of giving them back, the greedy dragon makes off with his winnings instead. Intending to show off the gemstones to the others, Baby Soup Dragon finds the Clangers’ caves deserted. After finding everyone outside playing the throwing game with Tiny and Small, the selfish young dragon ends up learning an important lesson about sharing...
