The Lone Gunmen receive an email from an insider at the CERN facility in Switzerland, which contains a number of heavily-encrypted files. When the trio begin decoding the documents, they find articles clipped from future newspapers that report a lethal virus, ghost catchers, manphibians, robots disguised as cars and a mysterious company called Skylogic Systems. Frohike, Langly and Byers immediately decide to inform Mulder and Scully of their discovery, tracking the two agents to the scene of a horrific event at an apartment block, where all the tenants have died from a virus that causes lethal metal spikes to burst from human flesh. While Scully leaves with Mulder to investigate the DNA samples she has taken from the victims, the Gunmen head back to base. But en route the trio are approached by two enigmatic agents in black suits, who want to stop their enquiries into Skylogic Systems – permanently…
