War of the Worlds Cast

"It's not the cold. It's something else."

When the aliens develop a weapon that disrupts telecommunications, a test triggers violent feedback, causes telephones to melt, and public call boxes to violently explode. All that is required to make a large-scale version of the device is a suitable power source, which the aliens locate aboard a delivery truck. A group of warriors is sent to intercept the vehicle when it arrives at a truck stop in Portland, Oregon; however, as they take over the bodies of three homeless people they are seen by a young girl named Molly, who manages to escape before the invaders can kill her. Molly is taken in by the staff of Whitewood asylum, where she hears the distressed ravings of Sylvia Van Buren; realising that the woman’s talk of aliens explains what she has seen, Molly frees Sylvia from her restraints, and together they head for Portland to get evidence. When Harrison learns of Sylvia’s escape, he and Suzanne immediately set off in search of their friend; in desperation they comb the streets looking for her, but to no avail. Meanwhile, Sylvia and Molly arrive at the truck stop, where they run into the three aliens; as Sylvia looks on helplessly, the aliens take over Molly’s body and then close in on her…
