After Virgil in <I>Thunderbird 2</I> rescues a father and son from a balloon trip gone wrong, Alan and Kayo take <I>Thunderbird 3</I> into space to repair <I>Thunderbird 5</I>’s communications satellite. Elsewhere, a powerful underwater seaquake leaves a research team trapped in their undersea lab. <I>Thunderbird 2</I> sets out on a rescue mission, but when <I>Thunderbird 4</I> is deployed to collect the stricken scientists, Gordon is distracted by a mysterious black box that is emitting the same signal as that of his father’s missing ship. As Gordon brings the device on board <I>Thunderbird 4</I> another powerful seismic tremor occurs – somehow the box is causing the seaquakes. Meanwhile, Lady Penelope and Parker help <I>International Rescue</I> in finding the person responsible for the earthquake generators; their search leads them to an old warehouse, and a trap laid by <I>International Rescue</I>’s old enemy: the man responsible for Jeff Tracy’s crash – the Hood...
