'Long Live the King' by Martin Worth

Heading northwards, Charles and the others find a message from Greg, asking to meet at Felbridge Army Camp in East Riding. Charles journeys to the camp and is reunited with Agnes, who tells him of Greg's work in bringing people together by setting up telephone lines and introducing a new form of currency. Greg is now dying from smallpox, and Agnes is determined to see him live on as the symbolic king of this new emerging nation.
