Star Trek Cast

Approaching the planet Pollux IV, the starship Enterprise becomes trapped by a gigantic, disembodied hand made up of pure energy. With his ship held captive, Captain Kirk and a landing party beam down to the planet surface to investigate. Here they discover a large temple, and encounter a handsome man who claims to be Apollo, the last of the Greek gods that dwelled on Earth back in ancient times. Apollo tells them that all of his fellow gods died of loneliness after leaving their home on Mount Olympus; he then informs the captain that he has decided that Kirk and his crew are to settle on Pollux IV and spend the rest of their lives worshiping him. However, Lieutenant Commander Spock's sensor readings indicate that Apollo's god-like abilities come from an organ inside his body which allows him to use energy from an external source, giving him the ability to create storms, thunderbolts and to grow in size to that of a giant. When Kirk refuses to agree to Apollo's demands, the god becomes angry, and subjects the landing party to the fury of his rage. Lieutenant Carolyn Palamas falls in love with Apollo, who decides to make her his bride; but when Scotty, who has harboured hopes of romance with the young woman, objects to Apollo's attentions, he is struck down by a deadly thunderbolt. To save his crew, Kirk must discover a way to defeat the very power of a god...
