Kirk, Doctor McCoy, Lieutenant Sulu and geologist D'Amato materialise on the surface of the planet; meanwhile, Losira vanishes, but the power surge she subsequently causes sends the Enterprise hurtling 990.7 light years away. Lieutenant Commander Spock calculates that it will take 11.33 hours at warp 8.4 to return to the planet. Kirk and the others discover that the planet's vegetation is poisonous, and the rocks are made of an unnatural alloy. Losira reappears, kills D'Amato merely by touching him, and then vanishes; she then appears once more and attempts to touch Sulu, but he manages to avoid her. The landing party realise that the woman can only harm the person whose name she calls out, and they decide to use this information to prevent her from killing again. However, Losira reappears on the Enterprise in engineering, kills a crewman and then sabotages the matter / antimatter integrator - unless Chief Engineer Scott can repair the damage in time, the ship will be destroyed...

William Shatner (Captain James Tiberius Kirk), Leonard Nimoy (First Officer Lieutenant Commander Spock), DeForest Kelley (Doctor Leonard H.
