Enterprise</I> arrives in orbit around the planet Triacus, Captain Kirk and his crew discover that every adult member of the Starnes Expedition has inexplicably committed suicide. Beaming down to the planet surface to investigate, Kirk and his landing party are surprised to find that the children of the dead scientific team are alive and well; however, the youngsters are strangely oblivious to their parents' deaths, and are much more interested in playing their games than listening to any questions that the captain tries to ask them.
