Enterprise as part of an exchange program, he stuns Lieutenant Worf by revealing that he is his brother, separated shortly before their parents were killed in the Romulan massacre of the Khitomer Outpost. New evidence has emerged that indicates that their late father, Mogh, aided and abetted the Romulans at Khitomer, resulting in the deaths of four-thousand Klingons; Worf decides to challenge the treasonous accusations and save his family's honour, and he journeys to the Klingon homeworld accompanied by Kurn, acting as his cha'Dlch - a second who will defend him during the trial. After bringing his case before the High Council, Worf is approached by the council leader, K'mpec, and asked to drop his challenge, but he refuses. Meanwhile, Kurn encounters Duras, another council member, who requests that he betray his brother; when Kurn refuses he is attacked and seriously wounded by two Klingon assassins. Worf turns to Captain Picard to act as his cha'Dlch; Picard agrees, honoured by the request. With the assistance of the Enterprise crew they soon discover that the Klingons' records of Khitomer have recently been altered to indict Mogh - the question is: why?

Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Thomas Riker), LeVar Burton (Chief Engineer Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Security Chief Lieutenant Worf), Gates McFadden (Doctor Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Councelor Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Lieutenant Commander Data), Wil Wheaton (Ensign Wesley Crusher), Charles Cooper (K'mpec), Tony Todd (Kurn), Patrick Massett (Duras), Thelma Lee (Kahlest), Teddy Davis (Transporter Tech), B.J.
