Enterprise. Having designed the ship s engines, Leah is the woman of his dreams, but when she finally beams aboard the vessel, Geordi is disappointed to find her cold, humourless, and critical of the adjustments he has made to the Enterprise s engines. Meanwhile, Captain Picard and his crew encounter a large, mysterious creature floating through space. But as the ship moves in for a closer look, the life form latches onto the hull and begins emitting deadly radiation; forced to defend his ship, Picard gives the order to open fire, looking on with regret as the creature is killed. However, Lieutenant Commander Data then detects another energy reading within the creature s corpse - there is a baby inside, struggling desperately to escape from its dead mother's womb. Geordi s attempts to win Leah over fail dismally, and his disappointment increases when he learns that she is married. Back on the bridge, Doctor Beverly Crusher and Lieutenant Worf perform a Caesarean section on the dead alien using the ship s phasers; the operation is a success - until the baby, now believing that the Enterprise is its mother, latches onto the hull and refuses to let go&

Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Thomas Riker), LeVar Burton (Chief Engineer Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Security Chief Lieutenant Worf), Gates McFadden (Doctor Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Councelor Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Lieutenant Commander Data), Susan Gibney (Doctor Leah Brahms), Lanei Chapman (Ensign Rager), Jana Marie Hupp (Ensign Pavlik), Whoopi Goldberg (Guinan), April Grace (Transporter Technician)

Directed by Winrich Kolbe
Produced by David Livingston
Co-Produced by Peter Lauritson
Executive Producers Michael Piller, Rick Berman and Gene Roddenberry

TX:
11th March, 1991

Notes:
*Featuring Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Commander William Thomas Riker, Chief Engineer Lieutenant Geordi La Forge, Security Chief Lieutenant Worf, Doctor Beverly Crusher, Councelor Deanna Troi, Lieutenant Commander Data and Guinan
