Held prisoner by the two renegade androids in a castle-like structure, Captain Picard, Lieutenant LaForge and Counselor Troi learn that Hugh, the free-thinking Borg, disrupted the Collective s sense of shared identity; Lore realised that his destiny was to make the Borg into totally artificial life-forms like himself and Data, completing the Borg's sense of purpose and ensuring that the age of biological life-forms comes to an end. Aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, Doctor Crusher is in command of a skeleton crew. Detecting the approach of the massive Borg ship, she orders those crewmembers still on the surface to return to the ship; however, Commander Riker and Lieutenant Worf insist on staying to search for the captain and his party, and before everyone can be retrieved, the Enterprise is forced to flee the area. Picard s attempts to get through to Data fail; the three officers are placed in a cell and LaForge s VISOR is confiscated. Lore informs Data that he plans to conduct neurological experiments on LaForge, tests that have previously given Borg subjects brain-damage. Meanwhile, LaForge determines that Lore has deactivated his brother s ethical program, and is using a carrier wave to feed him negative emotions; if they can generate a kedion pulse, the program could be reactivated. Elsewhere, Riker and Worf find the Borg castle, but are then captured by a group of Borg and taken to an underground catacomb; here they meet a familiar face: Hugh&

Patrick Stewart (Captain Jean-Luc Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Commander William Thomas Riker), LeVar Burton (Chief Engineer Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Security Chief Lieutenant Worf), Gates McFadden (Doctor Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Councelor Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Lieutenant Commander Data / Lore), Jonathan Del Arco (Hugh), Alex Datcher (Taitt), James Horan (Barnaby), Brian Cousins (Crosis), Benito Martinez (Salazar), Michael Reilly Burke (Goval)

Directed by Alexander Singer
Produced by Ronald D.
