On Moonbase, Nathan Spring prepares for the arrival of its extraterrestrial visitor, while Krivenko's guest, Doctor Andrew Philpot, plans to purchase the relic and take it back to the Holdi Museum on Earth. When the base quickly becomes invaded by troublesome journalists, Pal Kenzy encounters an old friend , a disreputable reporter named Daniel Larwood, who quickly makes a nuisance of himself with his investigations. Spring prepares for a visit to the Martian colonies, hoping to set up an International Space Police Force presence there; however, he is soon hampered by shuttle accidents, drug-running and the smuggling of a Mayan statue. Believing that these events somehow share a common link, Spring assigns the investigation to his subordinates, before boarding the shuttle Lucifer 1 bound for Mars. But shortly after lift-off, the shuttle explodes, and all aboard are killed instantly...

David Calder (Nathan Spring), Trevor Cooper (Colin Devis), Linda Newton (Pal Kenzy), Jonathan Adams (Alexander Krivenko), Sayo Inaba (Anna Shoun), Roy Holder (Daniel Larwood), Nigel Hughes (Andrew Philpott), Lachelle Carl (Susan Caxton), Wendy Macadam (Operations manager), Bridget Lynch-Rose (Co-pilot), Kenneth Lodge (Pilot), Peter Neathy (Customs Officer), Phillip Rowlands (Outpost Controller), David Janes (Surveyor)

Directed by Graeme Harper
Produced by Evgeny Gridneff

TX:
31st August, 1987 @ 8.35 pm

Notes:
*Featuring Nathan Spring, Colin Devis, Pal Kenzy, Anna Shoun and Alexander Krivenko

*Erick Ray Evans, who played David Theroux, was to have appeared in this story, but a sudden case of chicken-pox left him extremely ill; his lines were reworked - literally while recording was taking place in studio - and distributed between Trevor Cooper (Colin Devis) and Linda Newton (Pal Kenzy)
