'The Space Pirates' (6 Parts) Story Code 'YY' by Robert Holmes

The TARDIS arrives on a space beacon in Earth's future, just before it is attacked by Space Pirates. The Doctor and his friends are trapped in a sealed section of the beacon, as the pirates use explosives to blow it into sections and fly them away in order to plunder them for the precious mineral, Argonite. The time travellers witness a battle between the pirates and the Interstella Space Corps, which is led by General Hermack and Major Warne. The ISC are convinced that the pirates' leader is the innocent, yet eccentric mining pioneer named Milo Clancy. The Doctor joins forces with Clancy, and hides him on the planet Ta. They discover that the pirates' leader is a man called Craven, who has a secret base on the planet, and who is assisted by Madeleine, the daughter of his ex-partner Dom Issigri. Craven is secretly holding Madeleine's father hostage, and when she discovers Craven's treachery, and helps bring him to justice, and the Doctor, Jamie and Zoe are given a lift back to the TARDIS by Clancy in his spaceship, The Liz 79
