King John, tired of having his taxes continually stolen, finally decides to replace Robert de Rainault, the Sheriff of Nottingham The new Sheriff, Philip Mark, is known as 'The Butcher of Lincoln', and his Saracen sidekick Sarak is just as vicious, being a masked assassin from Nasir’s past. Determined to catch Robin and his outlaws, Philip Mark formulates a ruthless plan to kill Robin within one week. He captures six villagers from Wickham and sends word to Robin that he must give himself up or the captives will die at noon the next day, with six more put to death the each day until Robin is captured. Meanwhile, de Rainault, banished from Nottingham castle, is left deep within Sherwood Forest…
