After Robin and his band rescue a knight from an ambush, the knight reveals himself to be none other than King Richard, recently returned from his imprisonment in Europe. To show his gratitude, Richard pardons the outlaws and invites Robin to fight at his side in Normandy. But when Robin is taken in by Richard’s forceful personality and the naive hope that the king will make all things right again, the outlaws fall out and go their separate ways…
