Number 6 is approached by a young woman named Monique, who tells him of an assassination conspiracy that Number 100 and her father, the Village watchmaker, are plotting against the current Number 2. Realising that the death of the Village leader will result in a vicious reprisal against the villagers by the forces that oversee them, Number 6 decides to warn Number 2. However, Number 2 refuses to take his advice seriously - forcing Number 6 himself to try and prevent the imminent murder…
