Returning from the past Nick is shocked to discover that history has been altered: no one has heard of Claudia Brown – it seems that the woman Nick loves has never existed. Reeling from the implications of his actions, Nick allows Stephen, Connor and Abby to drive him back to their base; but instead of the Home Office Nick is taken to the Anomaly Research Centre, a massive, high-tech facility bustling with personnel he has never met before, headed by James Lester and his assistant, Oliver Leek. Nick plays along with Lester’s belief that he is suffering from stress-related amnesia, but Connor sees through him, admitting that he believes his boss’ claims that time has been changed. Receiving a report that two night security guards have been killed at the Castle Cross Shopping Mall, Nick and his team set off to investigate. While searching the complex, Stephen takes the opportunity to apologise to Nick for sleeping with his wife; however, Nick pragmatically puts the matter behind them – he is done with the past. Accessing the security camera system, the team discovers a Raptor from the Cretaceous Period roaming the mall’s walkways. While Abby helps Connor escape an attack from the vicious predator, Nick and Stephen locate the portal in the mall’s bowling alley. After finding a cleaner busily working in the complex, completely oblivious to the danger, Abbey and Connor search the locker rooms; when the cleaner is attacked by a baby raptor, Connor manages to sedate the creature – but also shoots Abby in the process. Meanwhile, Nick and Stephen track the adult Raptor to a department store, where they succeed in tranquilising it. When Connor joins them, dragging Abbey and the sleeping raptor behind him, Nick realises that the dinosaurs are a family unit – meaning a second raptor is still at large…
