The Doctor

The Doctor recovers from his regeneration, with a new personality and new physical form. The TARDIS materialises on Vulcan in the year 2020AD, where the Doctor witnesses the murder of an Earth Examininer. He decides to takes his place in order to discover the murderer, and he, Ben and Polly go to the nearby Earth colony. The Chief Scientist, Lesterson, has rescued a space rocket from a mercury swamp, and inside the Doctor finds two inanimate Daleks. Lesterson, removes one, reactivates it, and plans to use it as a servant. However, rebels, trying to overthrow the colony's governor, decide to use them for their own ends. It is discovered that the colony has already been infiltrated by Daleks, who have secretly set up a reproduction plant, and plan to exterminate the humans. The Doctor discovers their power source and turns it against them.
