Virdon, Burke and Galen meet a blind female chimpanzee named Fauna. She automatically assumes that they are all apes, and offers them food and shelter. Burke and Fauna soon become friends, but for Fauna, the friendship quickly blossoms into love. When Burke learns of Fauna’s feelings for her, he is torn between going along with the deception, ensuring that he and his friends’ true identities are kept secret, or telling her the truth – which will surely break her heart…
