The Doctor

The Doctor and his companions arrive on a planet in the future, which is run like a gigantic holiday camp. A man called Medok tells the Doctor that the colony is secretly being infiltrated at night by giant crab-like creatures called Macra. The Macra are in fact in control of this paradise, and have hypnotised the inhabitants to mine the deadly gas that they need to survive. Ben is conditioned by the Macra, and turns against his friends. The Doctor takes control of the gas-pumping machine and stops the Macra's vital supply, while a restored Ben frees the colony by blowing up the gas pumps.
