Some time after her defeat by Rothgo and the children, Belor manages to resurrect herself. She begins the creation of ‘the Albido’, an opposing force to Rothgo’s Nidas, which, when completed, will tip the balance of power in her favour. Once again, Rothgo calls on the children for help, using the crystals he gave them to summon them to a stone circle. While Tony and Helen are unsure whether to help the magician on such a dangerous mission, Phil agrees without question, and immediately finds himself transported to Rothgo’s underground lair. Rothgo needs Phil to determine if the Albido is complete, and he sends him to Asgard, kingdom of the gods. Arriving in a blacksmiths, Phil sees Rothgo disguised as the smith Wayland; however, before he can reach the sorcerer, Phil is chased off by a hound acting under Belor’s command, and in the confusion, a thief called Loce steals Wayland’s hammer. When Phil then encounters Belor, he tries to attack her, but the witch renders him unconscious and takes him captive. Loce meets Alberick, now transformed from the hound into a man, and tells him of Wayland’s hammer. Alberick leaves to inform his mistress, but is stopped by Wayland; a fight ensues, but Wayland is able to overpower Belor’s lackey and take his cloak of invisibility. Meanwhile, Terry and Helen decide to help their old friend, and arrive in Rothgo’s lair. Elsewhere, Loce offers Belor access to the hammer in exchange for riches and the restoration of his youth; Belor readily agrees, and together they set off to the fabled Golden Hall. Using the power of Wayland’s hammer to break through the walls, the villainous duo begin searching for the Midgard Jewell – the final part of the Albido, which will enable Belor to obliterate her enemy at last…
