A pretty motorist stops on the freeway approaching Las Vegas so that she can change a blown-out tyre; but when she cuts her finger, the blood drips through the earth and accidentally resurrects the body of Catherine Rawlins, one of the victims of Janos Skorzeny, the vampire that Kolchak killed three years earlier. Later, Kolchak learns of a new series of vampire-related murders in Los Angeles; promising Tony that he will interview an Indian guru, Karl wangles a trip to the City of Angels so that he can track down the killer. However, when he begins his investigations into the deaths he discovers that Lieutenant Matteo of the local police is downplaying the murders by attributing them to the work of devil worshippers. Kolchak meets ex-reporter-turned-realtor Faye Kruger, and gets her to write his article for him while he continues his investigations; unfortunately, this just lands him in more hot water with Vincenzo. After learning that Catherine has returned to her previous profession of call girl, Kolchak contacts her pimp and makes an appointment to meet her, but another girl turns up at his hotel room instead. Meanwhile, Catherine arrives at the home of a local football hero and kills him, slaughtering his team-mates when they later show up to collect him. Kolchak turns up at the scene, but Lieutenant Matteo arrives and orders him out of the city. Kolchak realises he is running out of time - but will he be able to track down the vampire before she kills again..?
