Crime in Seattle is now badly out of control, and the system of cryogenically freezing convicts is failing. The Foundation calls Michael Knight out of retirement and asks him for help. Although Michael’s former partner, K.I.T.T., has been dismantled and sold for parts, Devon manages to obtain most of his components, which are then installed in Michael's '57 classic Chevy; however, the final chip from K.I.T.T.’s systems has since been implanted in the head of a female cop, whose brain was destroyed by a bullet, so Michael finds himself with a new partner in his mission to restore law and order. Meanwhile, the Foundation begins construction of a new crimebusting car: the Knight Industries Four Thousand…
