'The Ransom' by Robert Collins

David Vincent is lead by Bob Torin, one of the members of the group of ‘believers’, to an abandoned grist mill in Vermont, thought to be the location of an alien regeneration plant. When the two of them are attacked by the aliens working in the building, Torin is shot in the leg; however, the two men are then able to take one of the aliens hostage and use him to ensure their safe departure. After discovering that their captive is in fact a very important alien leader, they become trapped in a remote cabin surrounded by his comrades, who threaten to make deadly reprisals unless he is released. A stand off soon begins - but will Vincent and Torin succeed in escaping with their prisoner..?
