'Highlander: Endgame' Screenplay by Joel Soisson Story by Eric Bernt, Gillian Horvath and Bill Panzer |
After the murder of his most recent, mortal companion, Connor MacLeod chooses to remove himself from the Game and seek safe haven in Sanctuary, a secret location run by other immortal conscientious objectors, which contains sensory-deprivation apparatus. Freed from the tireless agony of immortality, Connor no longer responds to the immortals' instinctive need to fight, and can only experience flashbacks to pivotal moments in his long life. Ten years later, a band of rogue immortals invade the Sanctuary, decapitating everyone they find. The abrupt massacre of so many immortals immediately disturbs Connor's cousin Duncan, and sends him on a quest to find his clansman. Duncan heads for Connor's sanctum sanctorum hidden behind the wreckage of his antique shop in Manhattan, but is attacked by the same gang of immortals, including his immortal ex-wife Kate, and led by the villainous Jacob Kell. It seems that Kell wants ultimate power and revenge against Connor, while Kate wants revenge against Duncan. The two highlanders must join forces to fight a battle that was once intended for only one…
