'Superstar' by Tim Brooke-Taylor, Bill Oddie and Graeme Garden

When the BBC bans all records in the music charts for being too rude and offensive, Tim decides to form his own pop group with Bill and Graeme and release a nice record. Failing to get anywhere as ‘The Cherubs’, the trio revert to ‘The Goodies’ and approach music agent Isabel Chintz with their song, ‘Tweet Tweet’; the unscrupulous woman sees potential, but turns them down for being too nice. However, after the Goodies perform on ‘The Maxie Grease Show’ and reduce the egotistical compere’s audience of grannies to tears with their song ‘Mummy, Mummy, Mummy’, Isabel changes her mind and offers to represent just Bill. Changing his name to Randy Pandy, Isabel quickly gets Bill fame, women and every place in the Top 5 – all without him actually releasing any records; continuing to exploit Bill for all he is worth, Isabel then gets him the lead part in the musical ‘St. Augustine, Superstar’ and the number one spot on ‘Top of the Pops’, performing the song ‘I Don’t Want Your Love’. Concerned for Bill’s welfare, Tim and Graeme attempt to sneak into the heavily-guarded BBC Television Centre to save him from his success – whether he likes it or not…
