'Scoutrageous' by Graeme Garden and Bill Oddie

Every Thursday night for the last sixteen years, Tim has made odd noises in his room, dressed in a raincoat, put a plastic bag on his head, and then left Goodies H.Q. to go to somewhere he won’t talk about. Their interest finally getting the better of them, Graeme and Bill follow their friend to see what shameful thing he gets up to – and discover that he is the leader of a Boy Scout troop of decrepit pensioners. Tim allows Graeme and Bill to join in, but the duo go too far, making up their own rules and achieving badges for stealing bloomers and kissing housewives. When Tim drums them out of the troop, Bill and Graeme form their own team, ‘The Masked Scouts’, and start a campaign of extortion and mischief; however, their crime spree leads the government to declare scouting an illegal activity, and Tim and his troop are arrested and sent before the Scoutfinder General for punishment. Let off for going to public school, Tim then joins the Salvation Army; meanwhile, Graeme and Bill plan to get the last badge they need – for World Domination…
