The Goodies

July, 55 A.D., when the glory of Rome is at its height, and the early Goodies are living in squalor in a mud hut in Cricklewood, England. After receiving a visit from a Roman ambassador with a summons from the Emperor, the trio rush off to the royal palace in Rome; here Tim, Bill and Graeme learn that the Emperor is upset that his people don’t like him, despite his best attempts at sharing his obsession for fruit with them, and wants them to bring in the crowds at the arena. The Goodies put on a show – but it’s rubbish, and they are booed off stage by the angry audience. The Emperor is furious, but rather than throwing the trio to the sheep (he’s run out of lions), he gives up and puts Tim in charge instead. With Tim Caesar busy enjoying the decadence that goes with the role, Graeme and Bill are left to the task of turning Italy into a giant amusement park; unfortunately they only send out invites to the Barbarians, Vandals and Visigoths – and soon Rome is invaded by Attila the Hun and his army…
