"Who are you? What do you want? Whom do you serve? What are you looking for?"

A spin-off series from 'Babylon 5', 'Crusade' follows the exploits of the crew of the Ranger ship Excalibur, as they search for the cure to a plague that threatens to wipe out humanity. In command of the ship is Captain Matthew Gideon, a man with more than his share of secrets, and who is aided in his quest by the enigmatic technomage, Galen.

Following on from the events in 'Babylon 5', this series had a lot to live up to, and sadly falls somewhat short. Stories are rather hit and miss, and before the show could find its feet, its proposed five-year arc was brought to an abrupt end when it was cancelled after just thirteen episodes, due to creative differences between the TNT channel and creator J. Michael Straczynski. (TNT wanted a space shoot-em-up with lots of sex and violence; this wasn't the show JMS wanted to produce, and he was not willing to compromise the format of the show just to satisfy TNT. As the thirteenth episode was wrapping up filming, TNT informed Warner Bros. and Babylonian Productions that they were not interested in funding any additional episodes, and production halted).
