Kepple</I> disappeared; after being missing for five days, it then reappeared in Ireland, but the entire crew were found dead. Tremayne assigns Craig, Richard and Sharron to take the <I>William J. Kepple</I> and follow the same route the ill-fated sub took, in order to find out what happened to its crew. But when the submarine strikes an underwater reef the Champions are forced to surface, and find themselves near an island surrounded by a mysterious green mist.
