Wales: two journalists break into a secret base underneath a Welsh graveyard so that they can get photographic evidence that the late General Patterson, Defence Advisor to the Pentagon, is being stored in cryogenic suspension. When the two men are found murdered, Tremayne sends Richard to investigate what really happened to Patterson. Richard discovers that the frozen body of the General is to be sold to a foreign government, but then he is captured and put through the same process. Can Craig and Sharron rescue their friend and thaw him out before it is too late?
