<BR><BR>Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue arrive to safeguard the vital mining operation run at Hotspot Tower in the North Pole, where scientists are drilling for Tritonium alloy, a rare metal needed for Earth's new space fleet bound for Mars. The base uses massive heating elements to keep the surrounding water at a constant sixty degrees, thereby preventing the ice from closing in and crushing the base. But when the driver of a Snow Cougar is killed in a blizzard, he is retrometabolised and becomes a Mysteron agent; he cuts the power to the heating elements - and Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue realise that the installation will be completely destroyed in less than thirty minutes...
