Captain Scarlet Cast

2068 A.D.: a manned expedition led by Captain Black of Spectrum lands on Mars; investigating the planet surface in an exploration vehicle, the crew discover a futuristic alien city. Its inhabitants, the invisible Mysterons, decide to make friendly contact with the approaching vehicle and train their cameras upon it, but this act is misinterpreted by Captain Black as an act of aggression, and he orders the destruction of the city. However, after the city has been levelled it is then recreated using retrometabolism and the enraged Mysterons vow revenge for the unwarranted attack by beginning a war of nerves against humanity...

"Our first act of retaliation will be to assassinate your world president."

On his return to Earth Captain Black immediately goes missing; he has been 'Mysteronised' - killed and then recreated under Mysteron control in order to become their agent. Aboard Cloudbase, Spectrum's headquarters located high in Earth's atmosphere, Colonel White is gravely concerned with the Mysterons' threat and so assigns Captain Scarlet and Captain Brown to guard the president. But while en route, their saloon car is shot off the road by the Mysterons and the two agents are killed in the crash and then Mysteronised. Captain Brown attempts to kill the World President by exploding immediately upon entering his office, but the World President manages to get to safety in time. Spectrum then place the World President under the protection of Captain Scarlet - but the Mysteron agent kidnaps him and takes him to the top of the eight-hundred-foot high London Car-Vu...
