Story Code '1719'
by Stanford Sherman
Holy Liberation! Women’s' rights spokesperson and secret crime-queen Nora Clavicle uses her persuasive prowess to win over Mayor Linseed's wife Millie, who then talks her husband into sacking Commissioner Gordon, Police Chief O'Hara, Batman and Robin and replace them with women. Newly-appointed Police Commissioner Clavicle then makes Millie Police Chief, and sends her henchgirls, Evelina and Angelina, to rob the Gotham National Bank; the heist is successful, as the new policewomen on guard duty are too concerned with their makeup to stop the robbery. Hearing of the robbery on their radio, the Caped Crusader and Boy Wonder speed off to the bank, ably assisted by Batgirl; using a portable Batcomputer to trace the gang to their hideout at the Drop Stitch and Co. knitting supply warehouse, they attempt to arrest Nora and her cronies, but the queen of crime is able to overpower the Caped Crusaderess, and threatens to stab her with a razor-sharp knitting needle unless the heroes surrender. After gloating over her plot to destroy Gotham and collect on the insurance policy she took out on it, Nora instructs her henchgirls to tie the three crime fighters in a Terrific Siamese Human Knot, which will instantly strangulate them at the slightest movement…
