'Louie's Lethal Lilac Time' Story Code '1718' by Charles Hoffman

Holy Odour! While staying at a beach house with Bruce Wayne and Barbara Gordon, Dick Grayson finds some ambergris; however, he and his millionaire buddy are then kidnapped by two of Louie the Lilac's henchmen, Sassafras and Saffron, who take them back to their hideout. Having witnessed the abduction, Barbara telephones her father, Commissioner Gordon, but when he in turn tries to contact Batman and Robin, he receives no reply... At Louie’s headquarters in an abandoned fragrance factory on Lavender Lane, Bruce and Dick are strapped to some machinery while the ambergris is examined by Lotus, Louie's perfume expert; when she informs her boss that she requires scent pouches from several animals, Louie despatches his henchmen to obtain the necessary creatures, planning to then force animal expert Bruce to remove the scent pouches. Meanwhile, Alfred uses the Batcomputer in the Batcave to locate his masters, and then informs Batgirl of their whereabouts. While the Caped Crusaderess speeds off to the factory, the redoubtable butler sends the Batmobile there by remote control. Batgirl and the police arrive at the perfumery, but when the crimefighteress sneaks inside she too is captured, and then thrown into a vat that will be filled with the hot oil used to extract scent from flowers…
