She is forced to take Liberator into a docking port inside the planet ; the others then receive her call for help, but when Avon, Tarrant and Dayna follow they are captured by the Ultras, servants of the Core. They are imprisoned and discover that Cally is being held in a deep sleep cell. Tarrant finds that the Ultra s are draining Cally s mind in order to add its knowledge to the Core s vast mental store; her body will then be fed into the Core s mass, to help it grow. Avon is also forced into a deep sleep cell; he tries to resist, but soon succumbs to the draining process. Dayna and Tarrant are put together so that they can procreate and make more subjects for the Core, but they escape and manage to elude the zombie Meniads that work for the Ultras. Aboard Liberator, Orac instructs Vila to tell riddles which he then transmits to the Core, confusing and overloading its mind. As the Core self-destructs, Dayna and Tarrant upload Cally and Avon s minds back into their bodies, and the four of them return to the ship, just as Ultraworld explodes.

Paul Darrow (Avon), Michael Keating (Vila), Jan Chappell (Cally), Josette Simon (Dayna), Steven Pacey (Tarrant), Peter Tuddenham (Zen / Orac), Peter Irchards (Ultra One), Stephen Jenn (Ultra Two), Ian Barritt (Ultra Three), Ronald Govey (Relf)

Directed by Vere Lorrimer
Produced by David Maloney

TX:
10th March 1980 @ 7.20 pm - 8.10 pm

Notes:
*Featuring Kerr Avon, Vila Restal, Cally, Dayna Mellanby, Del Tarrant, Zen and Orac
