After Mrs. Gale visits a childhood friend, a romance begins to blossom between her and her friend’s wealthy father, Oliver Waldner. But Cathy is unaware that the powerful shipbuilder has formulated a scheme to take over virtually all of Britain’s shipbuilding production, in order to prevent a bid for a nuclear-powered vessel to fall into foreign hands. Steed has the unenviable task of convincing Mrs. Gale that her new lover has murdered the father of her friend's fiancée in order to fulfil his unscrupulous plans…
