A politician is assassinated immediately after being elected, but an enquiry uncovers nothing. Meanwhile, a five-megaton warhead has been stolen from a government convoy, and Steed believes that the political assassins are going to use it to blackmail the government. With Steed's help, Mrs. Gale runs for the now vacant seat in parliament in order to find out who was responsible for the murder - only to find that the assassinated politician is still alive, and is preparing to detonate the warhead in the middle of London on November 5th - Guy Fawkes Night…
