While interrogating a man named Borowski, an agent given split personalities by a foreign power, Steed and his superior, Charles, discover that someone is creating perfect doubles of key people, such as a nuclear physicist and a several top agents - and Steed may be one of them. Steed and Mrs. Gale arrive at a holiday camp to investigate Gordon, the first man to be replaced. But Mrs. Gale fears that Steed may have already been replaced, and if so, she has order to kill his doppelganger; but is he really the double after all...?
