The Doctor

The time-travellers arrive ten million years in the future, aboard a giant space ark. The Earth is about to plunge into the Sun, and so the ark is carrying all the surviving human, animal and plant life, much of it in miniaturised form, in suspended animation, and is on a seven hundred year journey to a new home on the planet Refusis II. Dodo has a cold, a disease that is unknown in this time period, and a plague breaks out amongst the ship's Guardians and their alien Monoid slaves. The travellers are placed on trial for attempting to spread the disease deliberately, and Steve has to defend them. The Doctor finds a cure, and the travellers depart, only to reappear on the ship seven hundred years later, at the end of its voyage. Due to the plague, the Monoids have gained strength, and plan to make Refusis II their own, with the use of a bomb. The Doctor is aided by the invisible Refusians, and manages to persuade the three races to live in harmony.
