'Five by Five' Story Code '1ADH18' by Jim Couf

Angel and Wesley save a young boy named Marquis from a gang of demons, knowing that he is a prime witness in a case against Wolfram & Hart. Angel manages to convince Marquis to testify in the case being held at a local court house, much to the annoyance of lawyer Lindsey McDonald. Seeing an opportunity for revenge, Wolfram & Hart employee Lilah Morgan decides to make contact with a new arrival in L.A.: the rogue Slayer named Faith.

Flashback: Romania, circa 1898, when Angelus becomes Angel after his soul is restored by a gypsy.

Hired by Wolfram and Hart to kill Angel, Faith tries shooting him with a crossbow, but the vampire catches the bolt mid-flight. After Faith escapes, Angel talks to Giles in Sunnydale, and learns of how the girl recovered from her coma and disappeared. Angel tells Wesley and Cordelia to leave for safety, but Wesley refuses, believing that there is still a way to reach Faith hand help her - but then Faith kidnaps Wesley, torturing him almost to death. Angel and Cordelia track Faith and her hostage to her hide-out; a fight breaks out, and it is clear that Faith is slipping into insanity. As the two combatants crash through a window and fall to the alley below, Wesley manages to free himself, picks up a knife and prepares to do whatever he can to save Angel. Faith and Angel fight it out, but the rogue Slayer becomes unstable, breaks down in tears in Angel’s arms and then begs him to kill her…
